Agustín Cipriano Irusta was an Argentine actor and tango singer born on 28
August 1903 in Rosario. He began singing during his adolescence and received
vocal training from Andrés Chazarreta during his military service. He founded a
vocal duo with Roberto Fugazot in 1926 and later joined the trio
Irusta-Fugazot-Demare in 1927. They performed extensively in Europe, where
Irusta starred in the Spanish films Boliche (1933) and Aves sin rumbo (1934).
His compositions include the tangos “A cara o cruz”, “Dos vidas”, and “Mi
