The Japanese songwriter Yasu launched his career as the frontman of Janne Da
Arc, leading the visual kei band to Top 10 success on the Oricon Albums chart
before launching a solo career under the name Acid Black Cherry. The project was
launched in 2007 in the Hirakata neighborhood of Osaka, where Yasu had formed
Janne Da Arc more than 15 years prior. Yasu played 15 shows across Japan during
the summer of 2007 before releasing his debut single, "SPELL MAGIC," in July.
The song reached number 4 on the Oricon Top 20 and was followed later that year
