A Split‑Second, a Belgian electronic body music group formed in 1985 by Marc
Heyndrickx under the pseudonym Marc Ickx, emerged from a solo project that
recorded the demo Stained Impressions with Peter Bonne. The duo’s first single,
"Flesh", released on Antler Records in 1986, positioned the band as a pioneer of
the new beat movement and led to the 1987 album Ballistic Statues. After the
departure of electronic musician Philip Vargod, Peter Bonne joined as an
official member, and the group issued the single "Rigor Mortis" the same year.
